Chamillionaire - Ultimate Victory
Record Label: Chamillitary Entertainment Featured Artists: Slick Rick, KC, Bun B, Lil Wayne, Krazyzie Bone, Pimp C, Famous, Tony Henry, Devin the Dude Article by: G.S.E The album wakes you up to a fresh start with “Morning News”, another political track that touches the surface on a few topics that are discussed in “Evening News”. The third and fourth tracks have catchy beats as well as melodies, and shows that Cham definitely wants to go hard early. The fifth track, “Industry Groupie”, has one of the best beats I have ever heard, sampling the classic 80’s song, Ch“The Final Countdown”. Chamillionaire rips this beat as well as any other as he raps about his ongoing feud with a groupie. He then goes into “Pimp Mode” with Bun B on the sixth track, bringing the popular Houston flavor to the table. Then on the seventh track, he takes a different approach as a “Rock Star”, showing up with Hip-Hop’s #1 star Lil’ Wayne. On the tenth track, “The Ultimate Vaction”, Cham goes a little softer, but only to switch it up and bring more heat one song later on “Come Back to the Streets”. The twelfth track once again shows his love for money, and has a nice melody to it, like most of the tracks that Chamillionaire sings the chorus on. The next song brings the other half of UGK, Pimp C, as Cham gets crunk once more, giving you a “Welcome to the South”. Track number 15 features an up and coming Texas rapper with the name of Famous, who can definitely spit some fire. Look for him to blow up in the future. On “We Breakin Up”, Chamillionaire expresses his feelings about someone he had to let go. The 18th track has a laidback beat with another catchy melody and features Devin the Dude on the third verse. Finally, Cham goes out with a nice thank you on “The Ultimate Victory”, summing up his view on Hip-Hop today. The stringy beat fits perfectly with his flow on the last song of the CD. Overall, Cham isn’t focused on impressing anybody with over the top punch lines and metaphors, yet comes with the intelligence needed to give T.I. a run for his crown as the King of the South. “The Ultimate Victory” is the biggest thing to come out of Texas since the space shuttle. I highly recommend buying this album, and can guarantee any fan of Hip-Hop will love this album. My Rating: 5.5 out of 6 shots Track Listing: |
