The Spit Waltzer: C-rayz Walz

Words By Jabberwalkey

When you see the one-way streets of Hustleville, USA, I want you to envision this Emcee’s product like a person who never leaves the block. Well if that’s Hip-hop, then every one of his 25 singles is getting doper and doper! Battle raping is where most of our verbal gladiators start, but few can say the words "Retired" or "Undefeated". In the old days it was till Def (New School Word Insert) or Death! However, we are in 2006 and this particular arena involves mics, beats, and a sharp tongue! Let me tell you something; though growing up in the Bronx is like a walking into the rap melting pot everyday, C=rayz Walz has slained many rappers in the blaze battle. Now he’s banned for life and that’s an accomplishment in itself people! 2003 was the year he got signed to EL_P’s label Definitive Jux. The new sophomoric album just dropped entitled, "The Year of the Beast"! Take a bit into it! Dig into the belly of the beast with your ears and eyes! I think every rapper would like to dabble in acting, but few can really do it well enough impress anyone, so lets think outside the Mic and peep him and Vanessa Williams in "My Brothers Keeper". I want to give a major shout out 2 Kosha Dillz on plugging the interview and to the nation of Lycirsts Respecters, check this name on your list and state your position in the world of Hipology!

Sixshot.com: You’re a writer, Rapper, Actor, and I assume part-time Comedian. How did Being raised in the Bronx affect your style to date on these things?

Sixshot.com: Being in the Bronx is definitely making me stay connected to the streets and I'm escaping the mistakes that a lot of the elders made by disconnecting with the youth. Therefore, I remain to be hip hop in the Bronx where it originated, cause I'm watching how the devil's being created and I'm advocating a solution everyday through living proof.

Sixshot.com: What were your first jobs as a teenager before your rapping career took off?

A: Man that was the back in the day fam, I was not even old enough 2 work. It's buggin that I'm hearing that question. It makes me think that Hip-hop is connected with the feds intravenously, and peep, they try to find your code by reading interviews or videos, or shit you saying in codes- but now back to the question. (I see a big smile on his face, he is fucking with me obviously, but oddly I see some truth). You were asking me about my first jobs; I would say I had two. One was this vending situation and the other was a security guard thing, so that was about it. In 97 I said Hip-hop is what I do and I QUIT! I been grizzly every since!

Sixshot.com: You’ve written 2 books, so I must ask what are your favorite 3 books of all time?

A: My favorite three books for survival are "Hero Ain’t Nothing But a Sandwich" by Alice Childress, "The Learning Tree" by Rosa Parks, and "Where the Wild Things Are" by Maurice Sendack.

Sixshot.com How did having a son Impact your life, music, and Spirit?

Warning! May contain rapper language (A Flow of words)

A: Having a son really impacted my life cause I realized my penis is a compacted knife that can cut and slice; give and take life. If somebody's feelings get hurt the womb won’t be the light, so you see, it's all because of the womb that the darkness became the light; like a star overseeing everybody. Understand who you are, be right there in the middle realm of balance. That’s the challenge. Making babies made me stray from malice and then the children will inherit the palace; so RaviPops has made me a vocal weapon.

Sixshot.com:Why the name C-rayz walz anyway?

A: Understand the rayz is like huge, cause it manifests from the sun, which is source of energy all around us. The walz is like the waltz of life, so I wanted to show that the possibilities are infinite you know what I mean it's Deep Look at the rap GAME it's not what it appears to be it's more Business than soul and culture.

Sixshot.com:How were your musical roots established perhaps a older sibling, maybe a parent with a dope ass record collection please explain how your love for music evolved Originally?

A: My moms had mad records but I was not even into playing them , But my sister now that’s another story she had the good shit she got shit popping off in there the old school blaster out the window so it was very inspiring in the Bronx this was back when people were dancing and the block parties and shit I was there when they were making movies! Shit in the Bronx if had positive thoughts before 85 U were Hip-Hop!

Sixshot.com:I must say going on tour with Gza is like Vacationing with a lyrical god please tell some good experiences or funny stories you have from that?

A: I’ll tell U the truth god for me to be compared to Gza sometimes by fans and critics it's really a great honor cause that’s a masterful thinker In the realms of thoughts that’s a powerful brother so being around Gza is like being around a old man that’s serious and funny U got to decide at the same time is it a serious face or a funny face it's kind of the same thing but it's not ( there's some sincerity in his voice Yes a Nerve as Been Flicked) so it's like a living chess game.

Sixshot.com:Knowing you have opinion on politics Could you please explain your thoughts now that George will have 2 be out if they don’t change law/standard?

A: I honestly see Hilary Clinton cause she did not snitch on bill and bill did a lot of good things the health and kids but it's all a pile of tricks I mean Politics it 's like the Drug game you got to know how to Hustle Look how other people get away I mean look at the priests rapping little boys that’s some Big shit All I’m saying is wife with did not bail on him so that’s good enough for me!

Sixshot.com:You’ve referred to your style as " the art of energy" can you please explain that meaning to the readers?

A: For atoms 2 touch there are 2 types energy Potential and kinetic that’s like negative and positive U know what I'm saying so In-between that you going to be real or fake you going to acting or fake U see some people can really feel those things so U might want to project something U might want to get to live a fantasy or reality but energy is going to be reaming constant People want to feel u so that be the rhythm of life so the art of energy is what U see when U see C-rayz walz U feeling it and I feel U If I don’t feel U not next to me but when U feel me You burning up U feel son?.thats the energy of the sun going deep into the chambers of the energy and the art of energy so see some people U feel or U get close to them and they make u feel like U want to get the fuck away form them U don’t know why??? Some people on stage U seem them and U say " This shit sucks" then some U see and U like that’s the Illest performer ever SO U felt that energy U connected with that!!!! I aint got No Potential!!!! I'm showing proven energy that’s restraint minus Money drugs rims cars chains frames it's all the same frames!
