Gun Charges Against Sticky Fingaz Dropped ; Preps Rap MusicalPosted: 7/21/2006 7:07:49 AM by Black widow Gun-possession charges against rapper/actor Sticky Fingaz were dropped earlier this week. New York City prosecutors decided to drop the case Tuesday because there was no proof that the weapon belonged to the star, whose real name is Kirk Jones. Sticky was arrested last October after a housekeeper told police that the rap star left a loaded gun in his room at the Flatotel hotel in Manhattan. However, the district attorney’s office could not directly link the firearm to the Onyx rapper. His lawyer told reporters, "Clearly [the Manhattan District Attorney's office] did the right thing, and there was a just result because that wasn't his gun." While avoiding the long arm of the law , Sticky has been busy taking his big screen ambitions to another level. The Onyx MC has written, produced and directed A Day in the Life, a movie that consists entirely of rap dialogue. Sticky plays a major role in the film which boasts a cast that includes Michael Rapaport, Omar Epps, Mekhi Phifer, Bokeem Woodbine, Fredro Starr, Clarence Williams III and Drena De Niro. Sticky can currently be seen playing a half-vampire/half-human vigilante on the TV version of the hit movie Blade. Blade: The Series airs Wednesdays at 10 p.m. ET on Spike TV. |
