A New York judge issued a default judgment against jailed rapper Lil' Kim in a civil suit stemming from a 2001 shooting involving members of her crew.

Michael Goody, 25, sued the rapper, whose real name is Kimberly Jones, because his assailants had driven her car to the scene of the shooting, the New York Post reported Monday.

Goody was shot in the thigh outside a New York deli after exchanging words with Junior M.A.F.I.A. members James "Lil' Cease" Lloyd, Antoine "Banger" Spain, Damien Butler and Suif Jackson, the Post said.

Butler and Jackson were sentenced to jail for assault, Lloyd got probation and Spain was apparently dropped from the criminal case.

Brown's attorney, Mel Sachs, said his client could not attend any of the depositions in the civil suit because she is serving a year-and-a-day federal prison term for perjury.

Sachs said he would seek to have the civil judgment against Lil' Kim vacated.

"It can be shown that she was not involved and was not aware of the incident," he said.
