Don King has chosen music from the Wu Tang Clan’s U-God for the promotion of his upcoming event, Global Glory: Battle For Pride And Country.

The renowned boxing promoter chose multiple tracks from U-God’s forthcoming album, Mr. Xcitement, to serve as theme music for his Aug. 13 event, which takes place at the United Center in Chicago. The event’s TV Preview and radio advertising are already airing several times daily and feature U-God’s tunes.

Global Glory does not mark the first time U-God and King have worked together. In May, the Clan member lent songs to the Trinidad – Wright bout in Las Vegas. Mr. Xcitement was used in the daily 30-minute TV preview for that event on Direct TV/HBO and the music was also aired inside the MGM Grand Casino on their in-house cable system.

Global Glory: Battle For Pride And Country will take place on Aug. 13. U-God’s album, Mr. Xcitement, is due in stores Sept. 13 and will include a special skit called “Don King Speaks To U-God.”
