Rah Digga has left her post at J Records for an undisclosed label situation following in the footsteps of Flipmode chief Busta Rhymes.(click to read his story)

She  claims her decision was regrettable but as necessary to her career and livelihood as a rapper.

"The decision to leave J Records, it wasn't really something that I opted to do. I actually went as far as shooting the first single the first video and everything," she said.

"The move from J Records now further delaying Digga's highly anticipated sophomore album, Everything Is A Story , which was set to come out shortly.

"And I just saw [the delays] as a prelude of more problems to come," she said. "And an artist like myself who waited four years to drop the next record just didn't need those kinds of problems. So in the end it's almost a blessing." Rah Digga's last album, Dirty Harriet , received rave reviews from hip-hop purists  and commercial listeners as well.

"We just decided that it was better for us all to part ways on a mutual basis," said a J Records rep. "We don't know where she is going to go from here."

Under J Records, Rah Digga dropped a reworking of Biggie Smalls' "Party & Bullsh*t," which got significant radio and video play. Still, Digga said something was missing with the label support of her project.
Of the song she said, "At the end of the day, any time an artist has a record that's being added on rotation and playing on the radio for two months and about to be taken out of rotation before the label decides to support it and shoot a video for it is a problem."

"I pretty much kind of felt like the label wasn't really with me. And truth be told, we were leaving before they caught wind of what was going on," she said. Digga refused to divulge her new recording home.
