Nobody in this game will ever make as much music as Tupac did: Since his death in 1996, more albums of him have been released than while he still was alive. The only question to be asked is: What about the quality? The man is gone, so how good is the music that hasn’t been released since 1996? Is it possible that there still are pearls left – seven years and a lot of releases later?

First of all: Relax on that quality question – there’s only four tracks on this record that haven’t been released on other records. Nobody else but Eminem lent his talents for the production of these four tracks, which looks like a real promotional idea to me. Eminem redid “Ghost” that was done by DJ Pooh back in the days, he featured with 2Pac and the Outlawz on his version of “One Day At A Time”. Then, he produced the radio-single of this album, “Runnin’ (Dying to Live)” featuring the other legend of the East coast-West coast wars, the Notorious B.I.G., which is a cool song in my ears and stems from times with less beef between hip hop's last real legendary legends. The song is great. 50 Cent also features on this album with 2Pac on the song “The Realist Killaz”. Then, we’ve got a lot of stuff that stems from albums that were released while Pac was alive – or from other posthumous albums. Peep “Death Around The Corner” for example, a song from Me Against The World. I really love that track ‘cause it represents that real Tupac vibe – a typical West coast production, and dope lyrics, very similar to ‘Pac’s “Picture Me Rollin’”. There a couple of other tracks that you should know already, e.g. “Holler If You Hear Me” or “Bury Me A G”. A lot of songs that already been released once, and four new tracks complete that disc.

To me, this is a typical posthumous 2Pac album: Not too bad, but not a classic. Basically, all those records are meant to squeeze some more dead presidents out of the oeuvre of the best rapper ever. The four tracks done by Eminem are cool, and the whole record is okay, but it’s just not as if he was alive anymore. You just listen to the tracks and reminisce of a time when “All Eyez On Me” came out – then stand up, get that CD and listen to it! “Resurrection” is okay, and that’s it.
