David Banner - Mississippi
Record Label: SRC Records/Universal Featured Artists: Smoke D, Lil` Jon, Lil` Flip, Pastor Troy, Ax, Sky, B-Flat, Marcus, Fiend, J Da Groover, Mississippi Shawty, Kamikaze ,Bone Crusher Article by: admin If you haven't been living under a rock..you must have heard his first single and club banger featuring Lil Flip,"Like A Pimp"..where he urges the ballers to "make them guuurrls get dowwwn on the flow"..a far cry frm his social commentaries. If you think David is just your usual down south bootie rapper..think again. On the title track "Mississipi" where he challenges how black folk live and racism..Where the rebel flag still aint burning/New Schools but the black kids ain't learnin'?Crackers only come to buy crack/and cracker cops comeonly to bust nigga who sell that/". David finds himself in a dilemma on 'Cadillac 22's" where he speaks to God on how he wanna live right but wants to live the good and fast life: God I know that we pimp/ Him and Pastor Troy show their loathing for haters on the gritty "Fuck 'Em" and makes it real crunk with the King of Crunk..Lil Jon on the banger "Might Getcha". Like many other southern artists like Ludacris,Outkast,Goodie Mobb ..David Banner shows versatility and that he knows how to balance his mutliple dimensions and prove sthat Dirty South rap artits have substance and are not all about fried chicken, big booty hoes ,cars and gold teeth. This album is worth it and so was the deal Steve Rifkind made. |
