Article by: Black widow

Mos Def will be releasing his fourth solo album titled Ecstatic on February 9th via Downtown Records.

The album will feature appearances from Slick Rick, Jay Electronica, Black Thought and production from Madlib.

LIFE AFTER DEF

In a recent interview with DJ Vlad, Brooklyn rapper Uncle Murda revealed that he is no longer signed to Def Jam.

Murda divulged that he decided to part ways with the label after Jay-Z's departure. Jay-Z signed Murda to Def Jam in 2007.

“Things didn’t work out over there once Jay-Z left, they didn’t really know what to do with Uncle Murda after that," the rapper said.

ALL RAPPED UP

Murda revealed he is still affiliated with DJ Green Lantern and Violator Management and is seeking a new label.

Skillz released a compilation of all his popular “Rap Up" tracks via iTunes today (January 13th).

The set, titled The Rap Up EP, features four of  the rapper's 'Rap Up" tracks from 2003, 2004, 2007 and 2008.

"I love doing the 'Rap Ups'. I love the fact that people want to hear me do them still and the fact that it gets play on top market stations only helps. A lot of times when crazy things happen I feel the same way y'all feel about it, so putting it in a song for your entertainment is my pleasure!"
