Lil Wayne Saves Hometown Basketball CourtPosted: 1/12/2009 9:25:03 AM by Black widow Lil Wayne returned to his hometown of New Orleans this weekend to celebrate the re-opening of a basketball court that he played in during his childhood. According to WWLTV, Hollygrove's Harrell Playground had been damaged by Hurricane Katrina and Lil Wayne donated $200,000 to help rebuild its basketball court and other sections of the park. The rapper was joined by New Orleans Hornets superstar Chris Paul at the basketball court's re-opening on Saturday (January 10). "I played for this park and I'm gonna do whatever it takes to make sure y'all play for this park,” Lil Wayne told children in attendance. Lil Wayne is currently on a North American tour promoting his latest album Tha Carter III. The album, which was released in June 2088, has already sold over 2million copies. |
