According to CBS 5, Dr. Jan Adams was arrested for driving the wrong way on a California highway in June. Adams was handed the one year sentence on Monday (January 5). His lawyer, Michael Cardoza, revealed to CBS 5 that Adams chose jail time over a probationary term because he wants to get his physician's license back. Cardoza also revealed that Adams had two prior DUI convictions and had been drinking because of stress related to the death of West's mother. Adams will report to jail on February 5th. West's mother died at a Los Angeles hospital in 2007, a day after being operated by Adams. Adams came under fire for Donda's death because of his previous cases of malpractice but months later an autopsy would reveal that she died from 'pre-existing heart disease and post-operative factors' and not 'surgical misadventure.'
