Method Man Tools Up For ‘Mortician 3D’

Wu-Tang rapper Method Man has reportedly been added to an upcoming film titled The Mortician 3D.

Details about the flick’s storyline were not revealed but according to Yahoo Movies, the film is billed as 'gritty, urban drama in the style of David Fincher’s Seven'.

The cast for Mortician includes Angelic Zambrana (Precious), Edward Furlong (American History X) and Tom Hardy (Bronson).

The flick will begin shooting in Louisiana later this month. Its premiere date was not revealed.

In related news, Method Man along with Ghostface and Raekwon will be releasing a collabo album titled Wu-Massacre on December 22nd.

Eminem Set To Bloody Screens With ‘Shady Talez’

Eminem will be returning to the big screen with the intent to make your blood curl.

According to Screen Daily, the Detroit rapper will be starring in an upcoming 3D horror film titled Shady Talez.

The film’s screenplay will be penned by Underworld writer Kevin Grevioux and producer Dallas Jackson.

Eminem will also serve as the flick’s producer along with Jackson, I Robot producer John Davis and D.J. Classicz/Davis Entertainment. Robert Townsend will direct the project.

Shady Talez will also be released as a four-issue comic book series due out in 2010 under the Marvel Icons imprint that Jackson and Grevioux are writing together.

In related news, Em is also working on his sixth solo album Relapse 2 which is slated for release in the coming months.

Bun B Readies New Album, Pimp C’s Final Solo Effort

Bun B recently revealed that he will be releasing his third solo project titled Trill OG next year.

The Houston rapper divulged to XXLMag that the set will feature production from Cool & Dre, DJ Premier and J.U.S.T.I.C.E League.

“[It’s] targeted for the first quarter next year to take advantage of the Superbowl weekend, All-Star weekend, MAGIC convention and all these opportunities where you can market and promote yourself to a lot of people in one time,” said Bun. “ At the Superbowl weekend you can touch 100,000 people in one weekend.”

Bun has also been putting together Pimp C’s final solo album, The Naked Soul of Sweet James Jones, which will be released via Rap-A-Lot Records.

The cover for The Naked Soul landed online last week. A release date for the album has not been revealed.

B.G. Busted On Gun Charge

Former Cash Money rapper B.G. was reportedly arrested on a felony gun charge in New Orleans earlier this week.

According to NOLA, B.G. was initially pulled over in his late-model Chevy Tahoe by police on Tuesday night (November 3) after making a traffic violation.

Police would find three guns in the rapper's vehicle, two of which were reported stolen.

B.G. was charged and booked into jail with illegal carrying of a firearm.

He appeared before a judge on Thursday morning (November 6) but his status of incarceration, such as bond information, is currently unknown.

B.G. was arrested with the two other men in the vehicle. The men were identified as Demounde Pollard, 17, and Jerod Fedison, 28.

Fedison was charged with illegal carrying of a firearm. Pollard was slapped with various charges including possession of hydrocodone, oxycodone and alprazolam -- and two counts of illegal possession of stolen firearms, and a count of illegal carrying of a weapon.

Lupe Fiasco & Jack Splash Animate Life Into Baatin Via Upcoming Film

The loss of Slum Village member Baatin earlier this year was a great loss for the hip hop community and Miami based rapper/producer/singer Jack Splash is keeping the late rapper’s memory alive via his upcoming album and an animated short film.

According to XXL, Splash has a song dedicated to Baatin on his forthcoming album titled Heir To The Throne, Vol 1 which hits stores on November 11th.

Baatin was a close friend and mentor to Splash. Splash claims Baatin saved his life in a time of need and reminisces on the song “Baatin (Missing U)“.

“When I lost my hope and I could not do it/It was you, Baatin, that got me through it/And you told me if I fight for love they gon’ fight this/Teardrops on the paper as I write this.,” Splash raps on the song.

Splash will also be releasing an animated short film which is inspired by Baatin. Lupe Fiasco will be voicing the film’s main character.
