Timbaland recently revealed to an Atlanta radio station that he has squashed his beef with fellow producer Scott Storch.

The rift between the two began after Storch accused Timbaland of stealing credit for the production on Justin Timberlake’s 2002 hit, “Cry Me A River”. 

Storch claimed he co-wrote and played piano on the track.

Timbaland would respond to Storch on his hit “Give It To Me”, which featured Nelly Furtado and Justin Timberlake, saying “I'm a real producer and you just a piano man.”

Storch would fire back on the song “Built Like That” which he emphasized that Timbaland stole beats and that his recent success should be credited to producer Danja Handz who has worked under Timbaland's wing  over the past couple of years.

Timbaland revealed that he contacted Storch to squash their rift after hearing negative things about him from industry peers and  in the press.

“I reached out to Storch just a couple of days ago because of all of the stuff I’m hearing in the press about him,” Timbaland explained.  “I called him and I said 'We've been friends for so long and I'm here for y ou.  All the stuff that I have done, im sorry.  I just know that you need a friend. I just wanna be there for you and I know people are turning their backs on you'. I reached out to him, I went to his house and he was almost in tears because he thought I would be the last person to call him. He was like when he went against me, that shut a lot of doors from him.”

“I never was against Scott, Scott was my friend. It was more a competitive thing when I was going against [him], it was nothing personal,” Timbaland continued. “It became personal because Scott got caught up in the Hollywood lifestyle. He wanted to be the star and as a friend I told him stop trying to please people because it will backfire on you and people will start talking about you.  I told him don’t try to be the superstar cause they are only gonna be a handful of superstars. I don’t wanna see you go down. A lot of people go down this way. Just be that great producer like Kasheef all those big time producers that are big and behind the scenes, that’s what you are.”

“I definitely regret rapping about him,” Timbaland stressed.  “It was always on my conscious because I had been so blessed to do what I was doing and I didn’t want God to take the powers that I have and turn them against me cause i was thinking above myself.”

Timbaland is currently working on his follow up to 2007’s Shock Value.
