Ice Cube and producer DJ Pooh recently revealed that they have launched a website called UVNTV.com for artists and media companies to showcase their videos.
According to USA Today , UVNTV (U View Network Television) offers viewers numerous channels run by artists and companies targeting their major audiences.
One of the site’s highlight channels is Snoop Dogg's Snoopadelic channel which features a variety of his videos .
The site, which will also support short to full length movies from established companies and aspiring directors, also boasts a community similar to Myspace.
“We figured we needed to think about how we could still be part of entertainment in this future that's coming out at full speed,” Cube said. “We didn't just want to be providers of a product. We wanted to be a full-blown network. I think we're going to have programming that's way more interesting than what you can see on your daily television or even YouTube.”
In related news, Ice Cube will be starring alongside comedian Tracy Morgan in the comedy First Sunday which opens in theatres Friday (January 11th) . Cube and Morgan play two friends who attempt to rob a church but slowly change their minds during
their interaction with their hostages.
