2008 Projects: Debut album on So So Def titled Go DJ which will feature Kanye West, Akon, Ludacris and Young Buck, among others.
New Year's Resolution: I would probably have to say my New Year’s Resolution would be to not get so stressed over people wanting me to play their record. I feel like people think I’m the end-all be-all when it comes to DJ’s, especially out here in L.A. on the West Coast.
Sometimes I try to please everybody and if I can’t play somebody’s record I tend to want to explain to them why and what they need to do. It takes a lot of energy out of me. I used to think that if I told somebody what they needed to do to make a better record they would at least appreciate that, and some do but the majority don’t. The fact of the matter is that if you don’t tell somebody what they want to hear then they get upset.
So I need to not get so stressed out over that because it bothers me. I want people out there to bring me records that are hot. If they’re not [hot] then they should take the criticism, use it to their advantage, and come back with a hit. But I can’t get involved in explaining to every single person what they need to do to go make a hit. It takes up so much of my time and it’s very stressful when people don’t appreciate that. I gotta change that. [Felli Fel's Interview]
