Bad Boy rapper Yung Joc yesterday (December 27)released a statement declaring his innocence against his current weapon charge.
As reported earlier, a loaded gun was found in Joc's carry-on luggage at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport on Sunday (December 23).
Joc would be arrested and released on $50,000 bail on Monday (December 24) and did not enter a plea during his arraignment on Wednesday (December 26).
According to The Associated Press, Joc said in the statement that he is looking forward to clear his name and that he values the law.
“I have the utmost respect for the laws of this country and would never deliberately commit an act that would jeopardize my freedom, my family, or my career,” Joc said in the statement.
Joc has been charged with carrying a concealed weapon, a felony, and could be facing up to eighteen months behind bars.
The gun, which Joc claims he never knew was in his luggage, was a semiautomatic handgun which was also discovered with ammunition.
Joc is due back in court on January 25th.
