Hours after a being considered a fugitive for failing to appear in a Cleveland court this morning (December 26), Bad Boy rapper Yung Joc finally appeared in front of a judge and was scolded for his tardiness.
As reported earlier, a loaded gun was found in Joc's carry-on luggage at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport on Sunday (December 23).
Joc, who was arrested and released on $50,000 bail on Monday (December 24), was scheduled to be arraigned this morning on a concealed weapons charge but was a no-show.
Joc's lawyer would apologize to the court for his client's absence saying that the rapper was out of town because of personal and family obligations.
Prosecutors would consider Joc a fugitive and requested Judge Michael Ryan to issue a warrant for the rapper's arrest. The judge would also double Joc’s bond.
According to Reuters, Joc made his court appearance Wednesday afternoon and was lambasted by Judge Ryan. Despite his tardiness, Joc was set free on bond and his next court appearance is scheduled for January 25th.
Joc’s weapons charge, a felony,
could put the rapper behind bars for eighteen months. The gun, which Joc claims he never knew was in his luggage, was a semiautomatic handgun which was also discovered with ammunition.
