Beanie Sigel reportedly shot an anti violence public service announcement for Philadelphia’s FOX 29 this week.

According to Fox 29, Sigel urges teenagers to stay from the violent lifestyle that has plagued his own past and is the cause of the rise of the murder rate in Philadelphia .

Philadelphia has seen more than one killing a day this year .  Over  375 people have been lost to violence in Philadelphia in 2007 alone.

“I been on both sides of the fence and the world they're traveling through is gonna come to an end.  You lose your life in two ways, by death or in jail.”  Sigel told Fox 29.  “If this is a message for the youth,  it gotta come from somebody that they not only respect but they know.  That been through what they're goin through.”

Sigel was shot last year and has been imprisoned several times.

“I got the scars.  I got the wounds.  I know,” Sigel explained.  “ Why should they listen to me, who else they gonna listen to?”

“If they say why they should listen to me, then they're being hypocrites.  Cause these are the same people that say the reason why the youth is out doing these things is cause they listened to Beanie Sigel's music,” the Philly rapp er continued.  “So if I'm telling them  to do something good,  are they not gonna listen to me then.”

Sigel dropped his fourth album titled The Solution this week. The album features appearances from Jay-Z, Scarface, Ozzy Osbourne, Ghostface and Styles P, among others.

“I got a pretty good lineup,” Sigel said about his latest project.  “I think to me,  this might be my best album to date.”
