
Bun B, Chamillionaire, Mike Jones, Trae and Willie D of the Geto Boys were among over a thousand mourners who showed up at Port Arthur’s Bob Civic Center today (December 13) to pay their last respects to UGK’s Pimp C.
According to The Houston Chronicle, over 1700 people showed up at the legendary Houston rapper’s funeral.
Police turned away around 50 people who had violated the dress code requested by Pimp C’s family which included no caps, do-rags, hoodies and sagging jeans.
Kaitlyn Budwine and Shelly Sponslar, both Port Arthur natives, appeared at the funeral wearing Pimp C T-shirts and were turned away.
“We're paying respect with our shirts. He would want us to wear this,” said Sponslar.
Grill-maker Johnny Dang, Slim Thug, J Prince of Rap-A-Lot Records nd Archbishop Don "Magic" Juan were also in attendance.
“It's a joyful day because I see all the people that have turned out,” Don Juan said.
Weslyn "Mama Wes" Monroe, Pimp C’s mother, appeared at the funeral wearing a top with UGK’s crest on it.

arched with metal detectors and snipers were positioned atop of a building across the street.
Pimp C will be buried at the Greenlawn Cemetery. The public will not be allowed to attend the burial, only close friends and family.
As reported earlier, Pimp C (born Chad Butler), was found dead in bed in his room at the Mondrian Hotel in Hollywood, California last week. The cause of Pimp C’s death is still unknown but coroners believe it was natural causes.
Pimp C was only 33 years old and is survived by a wife and three children.
