Reports have surfaced that Chicago rapper Common will play Green Lantern in the big screen adaptation of DC Comics’ Justice League.

According to IESB.net, a source closely attached to the flick revealed that Common has the role of John Stewart/The Green Lantern ‘pretty much locked’.

The site also reports Adam Brody will play Wally West/The Flash.

This marks the second comic to film adaptation that Common has been attached to.

The rapper will be starring alongside Angelina Jolie and Morgan Freeman in Wanted, which centers on a young man who discovers that his deceased father was a super villain and decides to follow in his footsteps

Wanted opens in theaters in March 2008.

Common can currently be seen in theatres alongside Denzel Washington in American Gangster.
