The story of New York’s legendary rap collective The Juice Crew will be coming to life in an upcoming independent film titled  The Vapors.

The Juice Crew was formed in the mid 80’s by Mr. Magic and DJ Marley Marl and its other members included Biz Markie, Big Daddy Kane, Roxanne Shanté, MC Shan, Craig G, Tragedy Khadafi, Kool G Rap & DJ Polo, Masta Ace, TJ Swan and Cool V.

According to Blackfilm.com, actress Keke Palmer (Akeelah and the Bee) has been cast to play Roxanne Shanté while Clifton Powell (Ray) will play Mr. Magic.

The Vapors will begin filming in January 2008 and will be directed by Furqaan Clover.  Marley Marl and Big Daddy Kane will executive produce the film.
