So So Def rapper Da Brat was released from DeKalb County Jail yesterday night (November 1) after being arrested for smashing a bottle in the face of a waitress at an Atlanta nightclub on Wednesday night.

According to Atlanta’s WGCL TV, Brat was released on $50,000 bond.  A judge reportedly denied the rapper’s request to have the bond reduced.

As reported earlier, Da Brat got into a heated dispute with the waitress at Studio 72 on Wednesday night (October 31).Witnesses told authorities that the rapper picked up a bottle of rum and hit the woman in the face. 

The waitress sustained a deep laceration to the cheek and some swelling on the forehead.

Da Brat has been charged with aggravated assault.

Brat rose to fame in the mid 90’s with hits like “Funkadafied” and “Sittin' On Top Of The World”.  She hasn’t released an album since 2003 but appeared with her fellow label mates Dem Franchize Boyz on their 2006 hit, “I Think They Like Me.”

She also appeared on the fourth season of VH1’s The Surreal Life.
