Cam’ron recently revealed his thoughts about Jim Jones sharing a stage with 50 Cent and also talked about his upcoming mixtape, Public Enemy #1.
During a Q&A with Hot 97's Miss Info, the Dipset honcho divulged that he has been out of the spotlight for the past months because his mother suffered a number of strokes. He also divulged that there was also a rift between him and his label, Asylum Records.
Before his brief hiatus from the rap scene, Cam got into a war of words with 50 Cent and allegedly traded fists with Tru-Life at a New York nightclub. Dipset member Jim Jones would also reveal that he hadn’t spoken to Cam’ron for year.
According to Cam, him and Jim still haven’t spoken since their rift become public. Killa claims he has no ill will towards Jim but he wasn’t impressed with the Capo’s decision to share a stage with his enemy, 50 Cent.
“I still haven’t spoken to Jim,” Cam revealed. “But Jim ran with me for over 10 yrs, he worked hard,
and I wish him the best of luck. Everybody thinks I’m mad at Jim. Why am I mad? I told people for years that Jimmy was gonna be a star. So its better on my resume…I wish him the best.”
“The only thing is, him being with 50, I can’t really run with that,” he stressed. “Hang out with who you want to hang out…but me, I can’t really do nothing like that”
During his "5 Borough Tour" of New York in support of his album Curtis, 50 Cent brought out Jim Jones and Juelz Santana on stage with him during the tour's stop in Manhattan.
“That was a great move for 50,”said Cam. “First, he had Jim and Juelz, then he brought out Remy Ma and J-Hood, then I even saw [DJ]Whoo kid on TV with Gillie the Kid goin’ at Lil Wayne. I commend him for that. You’re really snatching a person from they own set. And then you also are seeing these n—as’ potential.”
Despite his commendation for 50, Cam’ron revealed that he will still be taking shots at the G-Unit boss on Public Enemy # 1. He will also be commenting on Jim sharing a stage with 50 and also speak on other things his fans may want to know.
“On the first joint, I talk for like 6 minutes. I get at 50. The Tru Life shit. I clear that shit up,” said Cam. “ And I also address the NYPD, the Intel squad…How they dragged me in during the whole Jay-Z and 50 Cent beef and tried to get me to talk about them….all that shit.
Public Enemy #1 is set for release on November 7th. According to Cam'ron, it will be a free double CD with 40 songs.
