NO BEEF HERE
Lil Wayne has shot down rumors that he was dissing 50 Cent on his latest single “Gossip”.
In the past few months, 50 has called the New Orleans rapper a ‘whore’ because of his numerous collaborations with different artists including his rival, Ja Rule.
After his performance of “Gossip” at the recent BET Hip Hop Awards, word begun to spread that the song was laced with subliminal shots at 50 Cent.
“I recorded [Gossip] in 2006,” Wayne explained to MTV News. “I don't make records or say anything about people. I don't beef with people. Everybody knows that. ... My words are more important than you. I got kids listening to me. I got grown folk listening to me. I got intelligent people listening to me. I want the words I say to come across [as] important. I want you to relate those words to me, not some guy or some girl. If you hear about me beefing with somebody, you gonna hear about it when I'm in jail.”
Lil Wayne will be releasing The Carter III: The Leak on December 18th and it will feature songs from the official The Carter III that leaked during the year. The official The Carter III will hit stores on February 12.
According to Wayne, he has collaborated with Kanye West, Justin Timberlake and Timbaland for the official Carter III. He is also planning on working with Eminem.
