Sean “Diddy” Combs' lawyer has shot down reports that the Bad Boy mogul will be turning himself into police today(October 16) to be charged with assaulting a man this past weekend.

Earlier reports claimed that Diddy would surrender himself at Manhattan's 1st Precinct to be fingerprinted and served with a desk appearance ticket for a misdemeanor assault charge

According to New York’s WNBCDiddy’s attorney, Benjamin Brafman, released a  statement denying those reports.

“What is being reported in the media is inaccurate,” he said. “Mr. Combs is not going to be arrested today.  We are hopeful that this matter will be resolved without the filing of any criminal charges as this was a disagreement among acquaintances, not a criminal assault.”

Diddy is accused of punching Steven Acevedo twice in the face after they got into an argument over a woman outside an after party in New York on Saturday (October 13).

Acevedo claims that when he tried to retaliate, one of Diddy’s bodyguards reached for his waist as if going for a gun.  He would leave the scene and head home where he called 911 and filed a report.

The attack reportedly left Acevedo with a fat lip and bloody nose.

This marks the third time this year that Diddy has been accused of assault.

Last week, a hip hop promoter filed a $5 million lawsuit against Diddy claiming the mogul attacked at New York nightclub in June.  In February, a real estate agent claimed Diddy assaulted him while he was trying to stop the Bad Boy founder from hitting on his fiancé.
