Mobb Deep’s Prodigy, who is also part of 50 Cent’s G-Unit crew, yesterday (October 9) pleaded guilty to criminal possession of a loaded gun in Manhattan Supreme Court as part of a plea deal and could be spending the next 3 ½ years behind bars.

According to The New York Daily News, Prodigy admitted to owning a .22-caliber handgun which was found by two cops who pulled him over after making an illegal U-turn in Manhattan last October.

The gun, which was fully loaded and unlicensed, was found in a console compartment between the driver seat and the passenger seat.

Prodigy was with Los Angeles bred producer The Alchemist during the arrest.  The gun charges against Alchemist were dismissed prior to the beginning of Prodigy’s trial.

Prodigy, who already had two gun possession convictions, had claimed he had no idea that the gun was in the console.
