Keith Murray, currently in South Africa to work on his latest album with local artists, has been robbed and is now offering a R50 000 reward for the return of his laptop.
According to Lance Stehr, CEO of Ghetto Ruff, the rap icon lost "the last 12 years of his work" stored on the Apple Mac and was now desperate to get it back.
Two armed men stormed into the first floor Cube recording studios in Parkview and held up Murray and several other people at about 10pm on Tuesday night.
According to Stehr, the two men took "about four laptops" and then robbed everyone present of their cellphones and cash.
He said it was believed that they had another two accomplices who waited for them downstairs while the robbery took place.
Murray is currently laying down a track using Brenda Fassie's Weekend Special, with her son, Bongani Fassie, as the producer.
"When the guys left they even had the cheek to shout 'Hey Fassie boy, continue making hits'," Stehr said.
