Despite being over 170,000 units back in first week sales, 50 Cent is still confident that he will beat Kanye West.
The G-Unit boss recently told Billboard that it’s still too early in the race to declare Kanye as the winner. Both artists released their albums, titled Curtis and Graduation, on Tuesday (September 11). To date, Graduation has sold 781,000 copies while Curtis has sold with 603,000.
“[The sales] can't be considered [any one way] anyway because it's just a few days out,” 50 explained.&n
bsp; “I guess [the music industry] would consider me to be a hip-hop favorite because of my sales history, and people like to root for the underdog.”
Earlier this week, 50 blamed Intersope for falling behind Kanye in album sales and revealed that he will drop one more album before exiting the label.
50 is presently touring New York City in a trek called “50 Cent's 5 Borough Tour” which ends tomorrow (September 16). The tour caused a stir in its stop in Manhattan on Thursday (September 13) when 50 would bring out Diplomat members Jim Jones and Juelz Santana on stage.
Dipset founder Cam’ron has been feuding with 50 Cent and is not on speaking terms with Jones. Prior to the Thursday performance, word had been swirling that 50 is attempting to sign Jones to G-Unit. Jones has denied the rumors.
50 would end his performance Thursday saying that he will release a remix to his single, “I Get Money”, which will feature Jay-Z and Diddy. Word is the track will be unveiled on Monday (September 17).
