An Indian based record company has filed a copyright infringement suit against The Game and Timbaland for sampling one its songs without permission.

 

EURWEB reports the suit was filed by Saregama India in Manhattan Federal Court and the company claims it owns the rights to the sample used on “Put It On The Game”, a track which was featured on Game’s debut album The Documentary.

 

The song was produced by Timbaland and his protégé Nate "Danjahandz" Hills.  The suit also names Interscope, Universal Music Group, Aftermath Entertainment, G-Unit Records, Czar Entertainment, Timbaland's Your browser does not support inline frames or is currently configured not to display inline frames. ix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />Virginia Beach Music and The Game's Black Wall Street imprint as defendants.

 

The amount in damages being sought by Saregama India was not disclosed.
