Crunchy Black of the Memphis based trio Three Six Mafia is no longer a part of the Oscar Award winning group.
According to a spokesman for Sony Records , Crunchy has not been with the group since May, and that his departure was his decision and he was not asked to leave by fellow members Juicy J and DJ Paul.
Three Six Mafia made history this year when they became the first rap group and the first African American group to win in the Best Song category.
The group wrote the track “It's Hard Out Here For A Pimp" which was performed by actor Terrence Howard in a scene from the movie Hustle & Flow.

anyone have "the end" "king of the undergrond" or any old thrre six shit, possibly the fuckin hardest c.d ive ever heard was underground. Crunchy Black has NOT left Three 6 Mafia, again HE HAS NOT LEFT DA 6, the he has taken a leave (vacation) from the group. Darnell was qouted saying "I need some time to think about some things that are going on in my life", tho he did not specify if he will or will not return to the Three 6 Mafia group.
