Last night (March 6) , Memphis collective Three 6 Mafia made hip hop history by being the first rap group and the first African American group to win in the Best Song category.
The group wrote the track “It's Hard Out Here For A Pimp" which was performed by Terrence Howard in a scene from the movie Hustle & Flow.
Earlier in the evening , the group performed the song live before accepting the award.
"I just couldn't believe it. I couldn't stand still," Jordan "Juicy J" Houston said backstage. "I had to run somewhere. I started to run somewhere. People thought the police was probably chasing me somewhere."

3-6 MAFIA oscar helps hip-hop
whoeva say 3-6 is garbage need to learn somethin about hip-hop...They STARTED the whole hip-hop/crunk thing...they always do the music THEIR way and never bite anyone's style. THAT IS WHAT HIP-HOP IS ALL ABOUT! originality, starting movements....if you expect every rapper to sound like Nas(complicated) then you forgettin what its about...INDEPENDENCE, ORIGINALITY.

Three 6 for the WIN
Three 6 just scored one, no 2, for hip hop. But like I said earlier on this thread, here comes faggot ass Bill O'Reilly with his close minded opinion. I thought Sixshot would have had some write up on it by now. He basically tried to put Three6 on blast like he does anyone or anything else affiliated with the culture. This dude dont realize that hip hop cant be stopped and the fact that some of his sponsors use hip hop in their advertisements. F**K Bill O'Reilly. He talk all that crap but we aint forget about him sexually harassin one of his shows producers then settled out in court and tried to keep it all hush.
