After running one of the most important magazines associated with the Hip Hop for the past 18 years, David Mays and Raymond “Benzino“ Scott were fired by their new board of directors on Thursday.
Mays and Scott had obtained a temporary restraining order blocking the move but it was lifted when members of the board voted to have the two released.
The self proclaimed “Bible Of Hip-Hop” now has a new CEO, Jerry Miller, who had held the position before he resigned from the troubled magazine in 2004.

Benzino opposed the opposition and got shown the door. The name of the game is money, period. Instead of benzino getting his money and becoming a leader in the hip hop community, he chose to use the source magazine the first hip hop publication as an outlet to fight his personal vendetta's. Nigga fight on wax or in the streets with your enemy not in your magazine thats not hip hop. I say goodbye, his career has come to an end it's only so long fake thugs can pretend. P.S. Jay-Z hates nas but he put his difference with him aside signed the little nigga and now jiggas gonna get paid off of nas now thats leader thats a hustler thats business.

Yall niggas sayin Benzino did many good moves for hip hop and that he stepped to 50? This nigga aint step to 50, he was dickridin 50 talkin bout 50 need to stop fuckin wit Em, that he need to basically fuck Em over. Benzino is gone and thats a good thing cause he was using that Magazine to promote himself. Listen to this, when the people who give out the mics gave Zino cd three mics, this nigga went behind they back and chaged it to three mics and a half and that shit is real check it out on the DVD Beef II, this nigga was usin this shit for his own benefit and plus he came at Eminem when Em hadnt done shit to him, before the infamous "racist tapes" and when Em had basically done nothing but show love towards The Source, this nigga trippin and Im glad he gone, by the way FUCK ALL YOU NIGGAS HATIN ON G-UNIT AND SHADY!!!!! You just mad cause they on top, dont hate, its bad for you. A word of advice just dont talk shit bout no one and no one will talk shit bout you and if they do for no reason air them niggas out, thats why I aint mad at Jada, 50 crossed the line, its a good thing my man already had a large fan base other wise Jada might have done alot more damage. Back to the point Benzino gone and I hope the niggas that replace him do a better job. ONE!!

i give benzino credit for takin on interscope and g-unit! benzino was a lil crazy. i give dave mays credit for steppin to slim shady in michigan. dave stood up to shady's whole click. but them guys really didn't know hip hop or rap music. it's a shame that our music has been raped and pimped by the "industry". i wish all industry pimps could get the same fate as benzino and mays.

How manys of you would have the balls to do what David Mays and Ray Benzino did. That's oppose the opposition and expose Hip Hop Police Task Forces. They've held it down for so long and all of you are just fuckin' tricks of the industry if you're talkin' shit about two men who made alot of good moves in their run with The Source. Reckon, XXL has Eye Candy and some of the biggest pop rappers on their covers, The Soucre has always stayed loyal to true rap fans and rappers. The Industry us going to change this year though. One up to Benzino and Mays.
