NO SHOW

A special New Year's Eve concert featuring The Ying Yang Twins set for Saturday at the Cajundome Convention Center has been canceled.

The concert's promoter, Rudy Bourg, owner of M&P Promotions, said he pulled the carpet out from under the show because of poor ticket sales in recent weeks and the outlook for the next few days remained grim.

Tickets, which cost $30 plus service charges, were being sold at an average rate of four per day.  < /SPAN>To date, the show netted 28 tickets sold--two of which went to Bourg's own sons.

"I would have done the show with only 500 tickets sold at this point," Bourg said.  "I'm not one to sugarcoat anything.  I didn't want to have the most expensive New Year's Eve party for my two sons and 26 friends."

Bourg, as financial backer for the show, needed to sell at least 2,000 tickets to break even.  To sell out, ticket sales needed to reach 4,000.
