SHiNE (Seeking Harmony in Neighborhoods Everyday), the national non-profit organization dedicated to ending youth violence and promoting respect for diversity, will be honoring CEO Roc-a-fella enterprises Damon Dash and the DaimlerChrysler Corporation at the third annual SHiNE Benefit in recognition of their unwavering commitment to promoting acceptance for diversity. Past benefit honorees have included Muhammad Ali, MTV and Russell Simmons.

The Benefit will take place at B.B. Kings in New York on November .9th, 2004, and will be hosted by Angie Martinez, MTV's LaLa and Omarion. In addition to supporting the future of the nation's youth, this event will raise much needed funds to enable SHiNE to expand and open its first walk-in facility in the Lower East Side focused on providing arts and civic engagement after-school programs for the City's teens.

Attendees for the first two SHiNE Benefits included Muhammad and Lonnie Ali, Russell and Kimora Lee Simmons, Carson Daly, Sean 'Pdiddy' Combs, Todd Oldham, Mos Def, Method Man, Lyor Cohen, Kelly Rowland, Alan Cummings, Brian Graden and N.E.R.D. SHiNE is anticipating that this year's event will exceed their previous benefits as they have already confirmed some of today's hottest artists and member s of the music and movie industry elite to attend to show their support for Damon Dash and DaimlerChrysler and, most importantly, help raise funds for the organization.

This year's Benefit will honor Damon Dash, CEO, Roc-A-Fella Enterprises and Founder of Team Roc with the 2004 SHiNE Visionary of the Year Award for his commitment to improving the lives of inner city youth by fostering their cultural and physical development. The event will also honor the DaimlerChrysler Corporation as SHiNE's 2004 Corporate Supporter of the Year in recognition of the Company's unwavering commitment to building an environment of inclusion with its employees, suppliers and customers.

'Today more than ever, millions of teens rely on SHiNE to help them process the recent events of the world and the tremendous stresses of adolescence to arrive at positive solutions, rather than resorting to anger, discrimination and violence as away of dealing with their feeling, ' said Alan Rambam, Founder of SHiNE.

SHiNE's current programs include the first ever virtual after-school program operating in over 20 states across the country, a landmark workshop series for teens whose mothers are incarcerated, an after-school program together with the South Bronx Redevelopment Authority, a Junior Scholars program with students in South Africa, workplace mentoring workshops together with Big Brothers Big Sisters of NYC and one of the most populated online pro-social communities at http://www.shine.com.
