DMC Directs

DMC of Run-DMC fame is stepping behind the camera. The hip-hop legend is going to develop and produce a hip-hop movie that details rap before the first rap record. The script for the film is currently in development with plans to start casting as soon as the script is approved. DMC will also be releasing a solo album in the fall entitled Checks, Thugs, and Rock 'n' Roll.

Bill Cosby Targets Hip Hop!

It seems Bill Cosby isn't done pontificating on his perceived troubles in the African American community and hip hop. The 67-year-old comedian, who garnered national ridicule for his comments on blacks, recently addressed a college conference in South Carolina and said that, "Rap demeans women, embraces profanity and celebrates criminal behavior."

Scrappy Starts'G-Wear'!

Lil Scrappy has started his own clothing line, G’s Wear.

Scrappy has not secured distribution, but has e already starting making the clothes.

Cosby is generalizing
some people are still doing well with the rap art form. most are wack and degrading. but he's got a point. and fuck being 'real'. gangsterism, pimpin and all that is still very wack. i don't care where u grow up. Black Americans think they have it hard? they should come to places in Nigeria and other countries. those places are ghetto. and still rappers there wouldn't dream of talking about the bullshit these guys talk about.

Cosby word
I have the utmost respect for Bill Cosby, but you can't just make some statement that direct and all inclusive without having all your facts. Yea, a lot of hip hop is degrading women, most of them bitches deserve it. A lot of rap celebrates violence, yet the US has committed more murders in the recent times then any rapper could've done harm. Not to mention, the lives niggaz live. Niggas be forced to grow up in a fucked up home, in a fucked up environment. It ain't even about what you see, cause I see a mother fuckin air conditioner in my window, that don't mean rap about it. It's about what niggas have gone through. Go through. Niggaz can't get jobs. Niggaz can't eat. Niggaz gettin treated like we ain't supposed to be respected, so how the fuck we gonna learn tollerance? Cut the bullshit. If Bill really that concerned other then to say this hand me down ass statement, then take a better stand. You got money, help present more jobs for more people, regardless of background. Help niggaz eat. Last statement. Look at niggaz like Bizzy, Like Nas, Like DMX, Like T.I., etc. They represent a struggle because they can't act like they haven't gone through the shit that they went through. At the same time, you hear a blessed message in some of their music. A lot of rappers only follow, so they defile the game. But don't let that take away from the trues. We got waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay more real ass niggaz out here in the industry then given credit. People need to open up their eyes, ears and hearts....Listen
