More than a decade has passed, but now the spandex-man with the funky haircut is back. After selling 17 million copies (y’all stop hating now ?) of his debut album « Please Hammer Don’t Hurt ‘Em » and living the life of a fallen popstar during the 90’s, MC Hammer (yes… « MC » Hammer) is releasing his sophomore album entitled « Active Duty » this week on his own label « WorldHit Music » (yeah, he still has this feeling for catchy names, doesn’t he ?). The first single off « Active Duty », an album title inspired by Hammer’s early Navy days, called « No Stoppin’ Us – USA » features leading politicians J.C. Watts and Earl Hilliard and its profits are partially being donated to help the September 11th victims’ families. « My album « Active Duty » gets out the message that this country is strong, that we are resilient, and that there is no stopping us », Hammer says. « I'm back to full active duty, the performer, the hip-hop, the man, his music and his life ». The performance ? The Hip Hop ? The man ? The music ? Well, we’ll give you a second chance. But please, MC Hammer, don’t hurt us. (HAD)
