The late Tupac Shakur’s mother and sole beneficiary of the Tupac Shakur Estate, Afeni Shakur, is sueing DPG-member Daz Dillinger over his upcoming EP „Makaveli & Dillinger: Don’t Go To Sleep“, set to be released December 25th. Shakur filed a trademark and copyright infringement lawsuit, including unfair competition, trademark dilution, conversion, unjust enrichment, and accounting. According to Shakur, Dillinger and his label DPG Recordz are not authorized to release the material that stems from Death Row times, since Daz was only hired „by the record company to produce certain master sound recordings of musical performances of the late hip-hop music recording artist Tupac Shakur“. That’s what the lawsuit says. The suit also states that DPG Recordz‘ webiste www.dpgrecordz.com started advertising for the EP, calling the title track „the most powerful song Tupac Shakur has ever recorded“. (HAD)
