New York police reportedly are investigating whether there could be a connection between the fatal shooting of rap legend Jam Master Jay and the wounding months later of the rapper's nephew. Karl Jordan, 20, was arrested on Aug. 8 on charges of attempted murder in the shooting of Rodney Jones, who was hit in the leg by gunfire in the Hollis section of Queens on May 14, authorities said.

Jones, a rapper known as Little Dee, is the nephew of Run-D.M.C.'s Jam Master Jay, whose real name was Jason Mizell. Mizell was killed on Oct. 30 by a masked gunman in the lounge of his recording studio in Queens.

Jones identified Jordan as the gunman, local news outlets reported today (Aug. 20). Darren Jordan, Jordan's father, told the Daily News that investigators have questioned his son about Mizell's death.

"The police are telling my son he's in a lot of trouble, and people are saying he had something to do with the murder of Jam Master Jay," Darren Jordan said. "My son ain't scared, but he's not comfortable. He knows he didn't do it."

Investigators have explored several different theories involving the death of Mizell. There has been speculation he may have been involved in a dispute over money, or that he was caught in the crossfire of a rivalry between rap figures who associate with known criminals.

JMJ forever !!!
I'm not a snitch but I surely hope they catch the gunman and the conspiritors behind JMJ's death. Look, I'm not going to pretend as if I knew JMJ personally so there is no way I can consider that he was an innocent saint but I did meet him, the man had a positive vibe with him. No, catching the killer(s) won't bring JMJ back but not catching the killers is disrespectful to the deceased and his family. How must his children feel knowing that the killer of their father is walking arounf freely living it up? Special shout out go out to his family if they happen to read this.

It's a sad situation
Cause no matter what it isn't going to bring JMJ back. It is hard to go on and know 1) you won't see that love one again-in this lifetime at least. 2) you may never get justice, cause it's always speculations on who did it, but I hope the wrong person is not accused cause enough black and brown brotha's have gone down on false allegations.
