R&B crooner Ne-Yo will be starring in an upcoming science flick titled Battle: Los Angeles.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the flick revolves around a marine platoon facing off against an alien invasion in Los Angeles.

Ne-Yo will play a corporal in the platoon. The cast of Battle: Los Angeles includes Aaron Eckhart, Michelle Rodriguez, Bridget Moynahan and Michael Pena, among others.

Battle: Los Angeles will begin filming in New Orleans this week and is expected to hit theatres in 2011.

In related news, Ne-Yo will be writing and singing the closing song for Disney’s The Princess and the Frog which opens in theatres later this year.
