After two long years of waiting for the release of his solo album, Outkast's Big Boi has severed ties with Jive Records and is headed to Def Jam.

The Atlanta rapper made the revelation yesterday (July 17) to Eye Weekly.

"The lawyers just have to finish their lawyering,” Big Boi divulged.

Big Boi will be pairing up again with L.A. Reid, the current CEO of Def Jam Records

Reid signed Outkast signed their first record deal with Reid's LaFace Records in the early 90's.
