Kanye West will be starring in a spin-off of the hit cartoon series Family Guy.

The Cleveland Show is due to air in the fall on Fox and the rapper has already recorded his voice for the spot last week in LA.

Kanye will play the character of an up-and-coming rapper called MC Kenny West.

Confirming the part is executive producer Mike Henry, who told People: "We knew Kanye was a big Family Guy fan because he invited Seth MacFarlane [creator of the show] to his house a year or two ago."

Executive producer Richard Appel also says Kanye helped in Kenny West's lines. "Before we came to the table... there was only one line he didn't love, and he came up with another idea and in a completely modest, nice way said, 'Would you mind if I changed just this one line?'"
