Officials of a Brooklyn middle school cancelled T.I.'s appearance at the school Friday (March 7) claiming that the rapper's visit was 'inappropriate'.
T.I.'s visit to Crown Heights' Middle School of the Arts would have aired on the rapper's current MTV reality show Road To Redemption and Vibe magazine editor Danyel Smith was going to serve as the school's principal for day.
T.I. graces the latest issue of Vibe Magazine and the officials believe that the rapper and Smith were more interested in promoting themselves rather than reaching out to the children.
Over the past year, T.I. has been visiting schools nationwide to discourage them from joining gangs
or partaking in illegal activities.
His visits are part of the 1,500 hours of community service he was ordered to perform by judge for the federal weapons charges he picked up in October 2007.
T.I. is due to begin a year-long jail term on March 27.
