Sean 'Diddy' Combs will be producing an upcoming rap album by retired actor Joaquin Phoenix.

Phoenix, who is well known for his portrayal of country singer Johnny Cash in the film Walk The Line, chose to retire from acting last year to pursue a rap career.

According to The Associated Press, Phoenix’s rap pursuits will be documented by fellow actor Casey Affleck (Good Will Hunting, Oceans Eleven).

Phoenix’s first public performance as a rapper will take place at a Las Vegas club today (January 16) and will also kick off the shooting of the documentary.

Phoenix's other film credits include Gladiator and The Village.
