Despite getting credit for the detainment of a would-be bomber on a plane yesterday morning , Pennsylvania rapper Asher Roth says his guitarist should be the one getting heralded as the real hero.
Reports that surfaced Wednesday implied that Roth along with his band subdued an unidentified man on their flight from Atlanta to Los Angeles but Roth claims he was nowhere near the scuffle and that it was his guitarist Chris Llewellyn who helped detain the man.
"Apparently I'm Jack Bauer," Roth joked during a Wednesday night interview with radio personalities Cipha Sounds and Peter Rosenberg. "I had nothing to do with that, it was all my dude Chris Llewellyn."
"He's the one who detained the man. I didn't witness it or anything like that. He heard the 'Help Me! 'Help Me!' from the back of the plane and he was the first to respond with a couple of other gentleman and pinned the dude down," Roth explained. "The dude was like 'I've gotta bomb, I’ve gotta bomb'. I didn't get to witness any of it.”
“I’m just happy Chris was there and really had the courage to do something cause that’s a scary position to be in,” Roth added. “A lot of people can’t say they would respond the s
ame way."
Roth is well known for his hit single "I Love College" and is gearing up to release his debut album via SRC Records this year.
