An Atlanta judge yesterday (September 22) ordered T.I. to pay more child support to the mother of two of his children after she claimed he wasn't providing enough money.
As reported earlier, Lashon Dixon took T.I. to court earlier this month claiming that the monthly payments of $2000 that she received from the rapper wasn't enough to support her and their two sons.
According to The Associated Press, Judge Bensonetta Tipton ruled Tuesday that T.I. must pay just over $3,000 a month to Dixon.
The Atlanta bred rapper was also ordered to pay for the children's private school tuition, uninsured medical bills and extracurricular activities.
Tipton also gave Dixon and T.I. joint custody of the boys, ages 7 and 8. Dixon was granted primary physical custody of the boys who had been spending 40% of their time with their father.
Dixon was initially seeking a monthly payment that was commensurate with T.I.'s current success. She and T.I. had the two boys prior to his success.
“Every little bit helps,” said Randy Kessler, Dixon's lawyer. “She was just getting by with the chil
dren, while they lived a different life with their father. It can't be complete opposites on the other side.”
T.I. has three other children outside of his relationship with Dixon.
In related news, T.I. will be releasing his sixth album titled Paper Trail on September 30th. The album features appearances from Ludacris, Lil Wayne, Jay-Z and Kanye West, among others.
