Superstar producer Timbaland has reportedly sued an Australian tour company for ruining his scheduled tour of the country and causing the local press to tarnish his image.

According to The New York Sun, Timbaland was slated to perform in five Australian cities last month but the tour was cancelled at the last minute.

In a lawsuit filed in New York federal court last week, Timbaland claims that Showtime Touring Group failed to make required payments for him to appear in the country.

Timbaland also claims that after the tour's cancellation, Showtime issued a press release claiming that Timbaland and his management failed to contact them. The local press would then claim Timbaland dismissed the tour because of his wedding and honey moon.

Timbaland, who seeking unspecified damages from the lawsuit, also accused Showtime of setting up sponsorships and endorsements without his approval.

Showtime representatives could not be reached for comment.
