Lil Wayne failed to appear in an Arizona court yesterday (August 27) for a hearing relating to various drug charges.

As reported earlier, Wayne was arrested and slapped with drug charges in Arizona after authorities found marijuana, cocaine, ecstasy and drug paraphernalia in a bus he was traveling in.

According to The Associated Press, Wayne's lawyer told the presiding judge Tuesday that his client failed to appear in court because of a medical condition.

The judge said that Wayne is not excused from the proceedings and he expects the rapper to appear in court in October.

HOLD UP!

A visit to Australia by Snoop Dogg may be cancelled again.  According to The Associated Press, immigration officials are reconsidering their decision to allow the rapper into the country.

As reported earlier, Snoop was banned from Australia in 2007 because of his criminal record.  Last week, immigration officials lifted the ban but their decision was met with resistance from famil y and victim support groups who want the rapper's ban reinstated.

“As a result of public concern and interest, [we have] decided that in fact we will be undertaking a more thorough assessment of Snoop's character,” a senior immigration official told Reuters.
