Thousands of people including Sean "Diddy" Combs, Nelly and Usher were sent running for safety after a gun was fired at an Atlanta night club hosting a Jeramine Dupri party on Friday night (August 1).

According to The Atlanta Journal Constitution, the shooting took place at Club Dream and authorities claim that the gunfire occurred during an altercation between security guards and angry patrons trying to push into the VIP section.

Authorities claim that the patrons were angry because they were being charged to enter the VIP section after they had paid at the door

“They started pushing to get into the VIP section.  Security came to calm it down and an altercation broke out,” explained DeKalb County Police spokesman officer Marcus Hodge.”  More security came over ... and that's when someone brandished a gun and ... shot one of the security officers in the arm.”

Hodge revealed that the security guard's elbow was grazed by the bullet.  His name was not released.

No arrests have been made and no gun was found.  Dupri, Diddy, Nelly and Usher were on stage at the time of the shooting and exited the club uninjured.
