C-Murder's house arrest rules were reportedly tightened by a New Orleans judge this week.
C- Murder, whose real name is Corey Miller, has been awaiting retrial on a second-degree murder charge in the 2002 killing of sixteen year old Steve Thomas, who was shot in the chest during a brawl in the defunct Platinum Club in Louisiana.
The rapper has been under house arrest since he was released on bond in March 2006.
During his time on house arrest, Judge Martha Sassone had allowed C-Murder to move around Jefferson and Orleans parishes during approved hours. She also allowed the rapper to travel out of state to promote his music and books.
According to The New Orleans Times-Picayune, Sassone tightened C-Murder's house arrest on Tuesday (July 1) ordering that the rapper can only leave his residence for "documented" medical appointments.
“All prior home incarceration orders are hereby revoked and Corey Miller is to remain on home incarceration,” Sassone said via a court order. “[Miller] is to be confined to his residence and is not to leave his residence until further orders of the court.”
Sassone's reason for tightening C-Murder’s house arrest wa
s not revealed and attorneys involved in the case are not allowed to speak on it due to a gag order given by Sassone.
C-Murder's second trial was slated to begin in June but was pushed back due to wrangling between prosecutors and the defense attorneys over witnesses' backgrounds. The rapper's trial will kick off on October 14th.
