A representative for 50 Cent issued a statement today (May 30) in behalf of the rapper in reaction to the fire of his Long Island home
As reported earlier, 50 Cent's Long Island home which housed his ex-girlfriend and ten year old son was destroyed by fire early Friday morning.
Six people including 50's exgirlfriend, Shaniqua Tompkins, and their son Marquise were rushed to hospital and treated for smoke inhalation.
Fire officials at the scene called the fire suspicious and are currently investigating the cause of the blaze.
“Informed this morning while filming a new motion picture on location in Louisiana, [50 Cent] expressed deep concern over this fire at his property,” the statement read. “He is extremely thankful that everyone including his son, Marquise, escaped the burning house safely. He is confident that authorities will be conducting a thorough investigation of the incident and is eager to review their findings.”
In the past few months, 50 and Tompkins have been battling over the $1.4 million house.

Tompkins lawyer, Paul Catsandonis, who spoke to TMZ Friday claims that his client and her son are traumatized.
Catsandonis also revealed that Tompkins claimed she heard someone break into the house before the fire broke out.
